Bus exhibits are available for hire for film work, special events etc. (but not for public passenger carrying duties where a charge is made). Requests for other appearances may be accepted without charge for certain causes and bodies.
Includes buses, trams, trolleybuses, coaches and other vehicles which formerly provided public transport services in Greater Manchester. Also includes historical records relating to public transport in the county, such as company records, photographs and films and a large collection of objects ranging from street furniture to ticketing equipment.

Trans Lancs Transport Show at the Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester
The Show is based in Heaton Park, one of the largest public parks in Europe. With something for everyone, there’ll be classic and modern buses, military and commercial vehicles, cars and motorcycles on show. Close by are the Boating Lake, Lakeside Café and the fun fair.
There will be regular heritage transport links between the Show and the Museum of Transport, using the Heaton Park Tramway (charge applies) and heritage buses from the Museum’s Collection (free heritage bus service).

Getting there
The Museum of Transport is located approximately one mile north of Manchester City Centre, at the junction of the A665 (Cheetham Hill Road) and the A6010 (Queens Road). It is at the north end of Boyle Street, adjoining First Manchester's bus garage. There are brown tourist direction signs for the Museum nearby.
