Replica costumes are available for our visitors to try on and we also have a free children's quiz called 'Hooter the History Hound' that our visitors can follow around the museum. A range of exciting events and activity days take place throughout the year.

On display are examples of 17th and early 18th century furniture and objects relating to Samuel Crompton and the founder of the museum, Lord Leverhulme.

What was that noise in the fireplace? Who was that at the door? Bring your torches and join us on a tour around Medieval Hall i’ th’ Wood!

We will explore the history of the hall and what the inhabitants 400 years go did to protect themselves from things that go bump in the night!

Suitable for adults and children aged 11 plus.
