Quarry Bank Mill is a first generation water powered cotton mill built in 1784, see the waterwheel, steam engines and cotton machinery working daily.
Guided tours of the Apprentice House show what life was like for the pauper children who worked in the Mill.

Styal Country Estate is part of Quarry Bank.

The archives and collection are closed whilst a major cataloguing project takes place.

Heroes of Adventure

This exhibition explores Quarry Bank throughout the First World War, with stories from the Greg family, the workers, the villagers of Styal, and the Mill itself. With photos, letters, and belongings from the Gregs and the workers, it is a story of hope, courage, loss and love.
