Train
Stockport Station is a ten minute walk away - just follow the path from McDonald's, turn right and walk up the hill. You will pass the Town Hall on your left hand side and the Art Gallery will be in front of you at the main set of traffic lights.

Bus
The 192 bus travels from Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport via the A6 - alight at the bus stop near Stockport College, which is next to the Art Gallery.

There is also a free bus service, called Metroshuttle, which connects Stockport town centre with major attractions. This runs on Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6:30pm, as well as on Sunday between 10:30am and 5:30pm.

Jutland 100 Commemoration

All the Stockport men who died at the Battle of Jutland will be remembered at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery, a list of their names is being displayed.

We are commemorating the Battle of Jutland by exhibiting two pieces of artwork by Stockport Artist, Henry Quick. Henry's artwork both contain small fragments from historic German wrecks scuttled at Scapa Flow in the Orkney's, Scotland.

Remembrance names and Henry's artwork will be displayed until Sunday 5th June 2016.

Saturday Morning Art Club

Saturday Morning Art Club has been a roaring success since it started in 1997. It has encouraged children and young people to develop their creativity using a wide variety of art materials and techniques. Artists, Jo Foley and Fiona Smith never fail to come up with imaginative ways to explore ideas and exhibitions. From banner-making, clay creatures, paper engineering to junk modelling – you never know what you’ll end up doing! Come along every Saturday morning from 10.30–12.30. Saturday Morning Art Club is suitable for children aged 8–13 years.

How to obtain
