A UNESCO World Heritage Site with breathtaking Romanesque architecture, exquisite stained glass, the Shrine of St Cuthbert and the resting place of St Bede. Things to do include climbing the Cathedral Tower, guided tours and special exhibitions. The Cathedral is a busy community offering daily worship, serving the city and diocese of Durham and the North East region. It attracts visitors from all over the world. The Cathedral is open every day 7.30am to 6pm. Entry to the Cathedral Church is free with admission charges applicable to some exhibitions and the Cathedral Tower.

AN EXHIBITION OF PRINTS BY MARY BURTON

  • 2 September — 29 October 2017 *on now

Mary Burton was born in 1945 in New York City. She completed a Doctor
of Ministry in Chicago in 1973, was a parish minister in Congregational
churches in the USA and emigrated to the UK in 1982. She took up
watercolour painting in 1987 and became increasingly absorbed with the
interface between creative and spiritual journeys. Her paintings are a play
on light in spiritual settings.

The Sixteen

THE SIXTEEN’S CHORAL PILGRIMAGE
