The site of the Bolton Abbey station boasts to being home to a number of rare plants and flowers such as the Bee Orchid and lies adjacent to a newly created wetland area developed with greatly appreciated financial assistance from Yorventure. The station itself is a reconstruction of the original with its own gift shop, refreshment room, toilets and facilities for the disabled and has substantial parking facilities for cars and coaches. The general waiting room also boasts a very substantial collection of pressure lamps. Linger a while at Embsay Station, the headquarters of the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, and enjoy its amenities, the café, the Railway's gift and book shop (an absolute must for the avid 'browser'!), see the extensive collection of or just watch the world go by from the adjoining picnic area. On summer Saturday evenings, you can enjoy an excursion in the award winning Victorian carriages run by Stately Trains.
