Dating back to 1828, the Museum houses a diverse Natural History collection covering the whole of the animal kingdom. Retaining an air of the avid Victorian collector, the Museum contains cases packed full of skeletons, mounted animals and specimens preserved in fluid.

Due to the holiday closure of UCL, the Museum is not open for a few days surrounding Easter and Christmas.

Birds do it, bees do it, even educated fleas do it, so where better to do it yourself than at the Grant Museum of Zoology. Whether you’re looking for love or seeking to impress your Valentine date, join us for our After Hours Valentine’s themed late opening. Discover the Museum after-dark, enjoy a drink and uncover how seduction is done in the animal world with our Valentines themed specimen labels. There is no need to book just drop in any time between 6.30pm and 9pm, tickets are sold on the door and cost £6, which includes a free glass of wine.

Animal Showoff

What would happen if we invited experts in every type of fauna* to make funny about the animals they know and love (or hate) for just 9 minutes? Animal Showoff is that! In a fun evening of science, jokes, stories and laughter come discover more about the animal kingdom from some of the its biggest fans.

The Grant Museum offers free curriculum-linked hands-on workshops or outreach sessions using its fantastic specimens for schools and eductational groups. Topics include: Predators and Prey; Habitats and Adaptations; Skeletons and Movement; Classification; Ecosystems; art and many more.
