Explosion!, The Museum of Naval Firepower is a new multi-million pound interactive museum set in the historic former Royal Navy armaments depot at Priddy’s Hard, on the Gosport side of Portsmouth Harbour.
Telling the story of naval firepower from the days of gunpowder to modern missiles with an unique collection which includes the Red Beard atom bomb, the Exocet missile and the Schwartzkopff torpedo. The two-hour tour of the museum includes a stunning multi- media film show set in the original 18th century gunpowder vault, the latest computer interactives and hands-on exhibits.
Alongside the dramatic displays, Explosion! explores the story of the many designers, makers and thousands of female munitions workers who supplied the Royal Navy.
Refreshments are available in the waterside Coffee Shop.
