Participants 'Dealing with a Disaster' at an EmmS training day

EMMS was founded in 1981, and incorporated as a company in 1992. We are a registered charity which serves museums of all types in the East Midlands region, operating in the historic counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.

Formally an Area Museum Council, EMMS has operated as a membership network for museums in the region since April 2002, and provides its members with a wide range of services to support them in their work.

Membership of EMMS is open to every museum in the region, organisations involved in cultural heritage, and individuals.
