Carrow House is a specialist study centre offering exceptional facilities for anyone interested in costume and textiles.
Carrow is home to one of the UK's largest collections of period dress, textiles, accessories, needle crafts and home furnishings. The collection comprises over 25,000 items. It reflects changing fashions from the 18th century to the present day and the social history of clothing and textiles in the home.
Norwich built its wealth on textiles trades from medieval times until the 19th century. Carrow House has information about the city's history as a centre for weaving and textile manufacture, including some stunning Norwich Shawls.
