The centre for contemporary craft in the Cotswolds

New Brewery Arts is Gloucestershire’s hub of visual and performing arts and crafts. A converted Victorian brewery housing a contemporary art gallery, pop-up gallery, craft shop, cafe, theatre and twelve on-site maker studios, the centre offers a unique arts and crafts experience.

Visitors can watch craftspeople at work and buy directly from them or browse an array of the best of British craft in the shop.

A short stroll from restaurants, pubs and shops, the centre is a must for visitors to Cirencester, the Cotswolds, and the South West.

Printed Textiles Exploration

Explore the richness and translucence of colour in dyes in a two day workshop with Carole - experimenting with painting and screen printing onto natural fabrics with a various mark making tools, paper stencils and photo stencils from Carole’s library of images. Carole simplifies recipes and methods and shares her 25 years of experience working with Procion P dyes.

Lino Printing in Colour

  • 4 — 5 August 2016 10am-4pm

For people who have made lino prints in black and white and who would like to extend their skills into making coloured prints. This intensive two day course will teach you how to make full coloured reduction prints, how to make 'rainbow rolled' backgrounds and how to apply chine colle additions to your work.

Your tutor will work with you at your own pace to make sure you get the results and the techniques you need to take your printmaking to another level.

Printmaking Collographs

  • 20 August 2016 10am-4pm

Create wonderful textural prints from throw away packaging string, wallpaper, leaves and much more.
During the workshop you will make a printing plate by gluing textural material onto a stiff board plate, then inking up the plate and printing it on an etching press to create a rich, dramatic and embossed print. Christine will show you a variety of techniques including viscosity inking to enable you to play with the colours and experiment
