The centre for contemporary craft in the Cotswolds

New Brewery Arts is Gloucestershire’s hub of visual and performing arts and crafts. A converted Victorian brewery housing a contemporary art gallery, pop-up gallery, craft shop, cafe, theatre and twelve on-site maker studios, the centre offers a unique arts and crafts experience.

Visitors can watch craftspeople at work and buy directly from them or browse an array of the best of British craft in the shop.

A short stroll from restaurants, pubs and shops, the centre is a must for visitors to Cirencester, the Cotswolds, and the South West.

The Gathering

  • 6 June — 11 July 2015 *on now

We are delighted to present the work of a closely knit group of makers bound together by the intensity and challenge of the Crafts Council professional development scheme, Hothouse, which offers selected makers a tailor-made, six month programme of business and creative support.

Makers are chosen for their high level of technical craftsmanship and originality, with The Gathering featuring the Hothouse 4 Midland cohort.

For over a year, The Gathering provided a focal point for artists including Brittany Delany, Katharina Klug, Katharine Eisenkoeck, Louisa Finch, Julia Jowett, Hilary Mayo, Sarah Brown, Sue Brown and Theo Wright. With backgrounds in a wide range of art and craft practices, all have generated new and exciting work for the exhibition.
