Craftspace Touring initiates an average of four exhibitions per annum of varying scales, each touring for 12 - 18 months. Each exhibition includes a range of interpretive, publicity, educational materials and resources. The majority of exhibitions are conceived and organised to tour to public art galleries and museums both in the region, nationally and internationally. However, to implement Craftspace's regional strategies for access, audience and crafts development, the programme also includes exhibitions, projects and events targeted at non-gallery community or business settings. We initiate two to three large scale life-long learning projects a year which offer people of all ages the opportunity to participate through making.
Current priorities are South Asian crafts development, rural touring and crafts in relation to disability. Craftspace Touring offers a range of advisory services in arts and audience development, education and life long learning initiatives, exhibition development and touring. In the past we have worked with local authorities, arts organisations and makers groups.
