An Tuireann is a showcase contemporary arts venue. Located on the Isle of Skye and rooted in the Gaelic language, the venue delivers an exhibitions and events programme of international quality. An Tuireann believes that residents of the Highlands and Islands shouldn’t have to travel hundreds of miles to view the best in contemporary art. The arts centre aims to provide a calendar of events which reflect the cultural aspirations and interests of the community while retaining its strong international links

Ebase

An Tuireann is among the first in the Highlands to offer Wi-Fi internet access. You can either log on with your own laptop, or access the internet via our public PC. There is also access to a Mac with various different software programmes you can use.

Poetry and Art Library

This collection features: Scottish writing; anthologies; an international section, including bilingual editions; children's titles and pamphlets. The books are available for reference and reading in any corner of the gallery or cafe. Members of An Turieann are able to borrow books.
Workshop books. A collection of books covering art, craft, design, philosophy, photography and critical theory. This educational resource of second-hand books is available for use in workshop or course sessions. Members may borrow books and visitors are welcome to browse while at the gallery. An Tuireann welcomes donations to this valuable collection.
