The National Archives is open to all, offering a range of activities and spaces to enjoy, as well as our reading rooms for research. Many of our most popular records are also available online.

Come along to one of our free volunteer-guided tours. The Keeper’s Gallery showcases some of the fascinating stories and highlights from our collections. You will find records related to British history, family history and significant global events. Current displays include Jane Austen, the Caravan Club and the Sexual Offences Act, Michael Faraday, and 1960s registered designs for toys.
