Rachel Lillie, an artist from Surbiton, has been revealed as the winner of the Cycling in London illustration competition organised by London Transport Museum.

The illustration will be used by Transport for London as a poster and forms part of a new exhibition at the London Transport Museum featuring works from the best contemporary illustrators on the theme of cycling in London.

A summer of Cycling celebrations are happening at the Museum, which is supporting the Mayor of London’s new cycling initiatives across the capital including the Barclays Cycle Superhighways, which are being heralded as safe, fast, direct routes into central London from outer London.

The first two routes open on July 19 2010 with ten more by 2015. The Cycling in London exhibition is displayed in the CBS Outdoor Gallery at London Transport Museum until August 22 2010.
