Hidden Lives Revealed

Hidden Lives Revealed opens up the historical archives of The Children's Society to take a look at its forerunner The Waifs and Strays' Society, which looked after about 22,500 children between its foundation in 1881 and 1918. Using photographs, articles, resources and case files, most of which were not previously accessible by the public, the site gives an intimate and moving account of the social problems of the Victorian and Edwardian ages.
