“This was Michael Owen’s first touch in the World Cup in 1998. He had just come on for his first game as a sub – this is his first World Cup moment.

It captures how easily Owen can turn a defender at speed. The shadow adds to the picture.

I took this as an aerial view from up in the stand. With 20 minutes to go the sun was dropping and the shadow was beginning to creep over the pitch through the stadium roofing and the light was filtering through.”
