During the Great War Folkestone was the main embarkation point for millions of men heading to France and Belgium to fight in the trenches. For two million of them the town was to be their last glimpse of England.

This website was set up by the Go Folkestone Action Group who are trying to renovate a Road of Remembrance in Folkestone in time for the 2014 centenary of the start of WWI. It is a developing resource with photo galleries, historical essays, news and links relating to this forgotten part of WWI history.
