Shakespeare Online

To where else but the British Library would you turn to consult the works of perhaps our greatest playwright in their original format? The answer is nowhere and now the BL has digitised its collection of 93 copies of the 21 plays by Shakespeare printed in quarto before the theatres close in 1642. Bard buffs can consult and compare various different versions of his works, while for the uninitiated there's a vast amount of background information on both the man himself and the words he wrote, as well as what actors and directors the world over have done with them.
