As the the award-winning author of psychic adventure Lockwood & Co, Jonathan Stroud has just enjoyed an “amazing” US tour filled with “booksellers buzzing” and “the most enthusiastic” young readers. And he’s looking forward to more of the same leaps of imagination and tall tale excitement at West Bridgford Library.

“I’m really excited about being involved in Museums at Night – it’s such a great concept,” he says.

“I like to think there's something for everyone in my event - some scares, some laughs, some funny dressing up, a video trailer, reading and lots of chat about my favourite kind of biscuit."

The evening will focus on his new series and provide a few potentially life-saving tips.

“I'll be showing the audience how to spot ghosts, telling them about the different types of ghosts and what life is like in a haunted London,” reveals the wraith-vanquishing writer.

“And, crucially, I'll be showing them the equipment needed to fight off evil spirits.”

  • Event takes place May 16, 7pm-9pm. Tickets £4 (family ticket £12). Booking essential, telephone 0115 981 6506 or visit the library. Visit Jonathan Stroud's website.
