The Open Air Museum in Singleton, Sussex covers 50 acres of land and is made up of 50 carefully restored buildings from the 13th – 19th century – featuring period gardens, lakes and animals. Sounds like rather a lot but the Museum has an interesting webpage that offers a virtual tour of 16 of these buildings. You can view the wind pump from Pevensey, or an 18th century wagon shed used to keep carts on the farm. You can explore a Toll cottage – one of many that collected money from passing traffic to repair and maintain its road. The website has an interactive map where you can choose one of the buildings to virtually visit and enjoy the detailed moving photo images.
