Parliament and the British Slave Trade 1600-1807

Parliament and the British Slave Trade 1600-1807 is a new website from the Parliamentary Archives and the 24 Hour Museum marking the bicentenary of the abolition of the British slave trade. The site currently features part of the 1807 Act of abolition and two digitised, searchable petitions for and against the trade, from 1806. In May 2007 the full site will go live with a wealth of archive material exploring the relationship between Parliament and the transatlantic slave trade, plus authoritative background information and space for public debate.
