An 11-foot ice wall has been erected outside the German Embassy in Belgrave Square to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Ben Bradshaw joined German Ambassador Georg Boomgaarden and Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Duncan Sandys, at the official launch of the installation this morning.

The installation, Work in Progress, was created by artists Manon Awst from the UK and Benjamin Walther from Germany who worked throughout the night to create the piece using ice provided by the Eskimo Ice Company.
Events have taken place throughout the day to symbolise the chain of events that helped melt the ice between East and West and lead to the end of the Cold War.
