Back in March 1946 Winston Churchill gave a speech in which he observed how an 'Iron Curtain' had descended across Europe. His words heralded the Cold War, entered the public consciousness and have now been turned into an innovative educational resource through this recently launched website. The project is the result of a collaboration between learning technology specialist mwr (Mackenzie Ward Research Ltd), networking company Cisco Systems, staff at the Cabinet War Rooms and the Churchill family, and uses Churchill’s famous speech to create a fascinating online venue where visitors can get to grips with the man himself and the historical and political context of the time.
