Curators have reunited Kempson's finds from across the museum collections, embellishing them with photographs and quotes to create a picture of bygone family life.
The piece is part of an installation of “mini museums”. They include the work of Jasleen Kaur, who’s interested in eschewing cultural boundaries and subversion, and Jason Singh, a beatboxer who’s made an innovative sound collection.
The theme of the display is the subjectivity of value, pondering the commonality of keepsakes and the way the things we assemble reflect our past, future and the importance we afford to memories.
