As anyone who has made the trip to Normandy to explore of the events June 1944 knows, it can be a bewildering experience. This modestly designed but very well signposted French website therefore offers a welcome and useful starting point.

It clearly lists the points of attraction - including all of the museums (public and private), the cemeteries, the memorials, the beaches, and the vestiges - as the English version aptly describes the various tanks and other pieces of gear that litter the Normandy countryside. There are also lots of clickable maps with concise descriptions of the action during and in the aftermath of D-Day 1944.
