The magnificent Horniman Museum in London will be one of the venues taking part in Ask a Curator Day 2012
Organisers have announced that Ask a Curator Day, the annual 24-hour tweetfest allowing audiences to quiz curators from museums and galleries across the world, will take place on September 19 this year.
Venues from Australia and Austria to Sri Lanka and Slovenia have already signed up – among the 25 countries involved so far, New Zealand’s Fresh Gallery Otara, Chile’s Museo Nacional de Historia Natural and the Johannesburg Art Gallery – the largest museum of art in South Africa – are a few of the early enlistees.
And authorities on oddities from more than 100 museums and galleries ensure the UK will be keenly represented: the Kelvingrove in Glasgow, the National Library of Wales and museum and gallery groups in Leeds, Lancashire, Birmingham and beyond will fly the potentially fuddled flag.
