A tranquil Elizabethan manor house set in beautiful gardens:
* There are some beautiful Tudor/Jacobean wall paintings, Jacobean plasterwork and several tapestries with some excellent C17 needlepoint chairs
* The Kitchen and dairy offer an intimate view of life 'below stairs'

Boxes, objects and other kit

Tudor Activity mornings

An intensive 2 hour 'Hands On' morning activity session, where the children learn about the house in Tudor times through a range of quick fire activities held in the actual building.
Activities range from such things as writing their name in Tudor script to learning how a bread oven worked.
There is a chance to stay on in the afternoon for teacher led extension activities in the church or park.

Paper-based and downloads

Canons Ashby Tudor Experience

School groups are invited to find out what life would have been like in a house like Canons Ashby at the end of the 16th century. Children learn about the life of Tudor servants in the kitchen and the house, learn about the life of the house owners, are taught some Tudor dances and find out about Tudor architecture as they are shown around the house. Group size max 36. KS2. 10:00 - 14:00
