Restoration country house with magnificent interiors, gardens and park. Built in 1685-88 for 'Young' Sir John Brownlow, Belton is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of Restoration country house architecture. The stunning interiors contain exceptionally fine plasterwork and wood-carving, as well as important collections of paintings, furniture, tapestries and silver. The grounds include 14 hectares (36 acres) of gardens, the Lakeside Walk, a magnificent landscaped park and the largest children's adventure playground in Lincolnshire.

£6.80, child £3.40, family £16. Groups £5.20, child £2.60. Family – grounds only (available in August only): £12.50. ‘Hidden England’ passport scheme: with a stamped passport, one person can obtain free admission when a full price ticket is purchased from other properties in the ‘Hidden England’ group.

The perfect English country house?

Built for Sir John Brownlow in the 1680s, Belton House has all the design features of a classic English country home. Sitting in formal Italian and Dutch gardens and an historic 1300 acre deer park, Belton is often cited as the quintessential country house estate.

The estate also includes a restaurant, cafe and indoor play area, gift and garden shops and the recently restored outdoor adventure playground.
