Martin Sellars

Open15 People's Choice Winner, Martin Sellars

  • 8 October — 5 November 2016

Martin is a self-taught artist from Northamptonshire. Most of his work is either in oils or acrylic and he likes to work using a vibrant palette, exploring and exaggerating colour. Martin sometimes works with a pre-planned idea before he puts paint to canvas, such as his winning piece 'Seven For a Secret', whereas other works evolve as he paints such as his more abstract work. Martin does not limit himself to one medium, style or concept as inspiration and ideas can change, however a lot of his work is inspired by the natural world with birds and animals playing a starring role.
