Temporary exhibitions and regular activities make the Manor House Museum a lively and vibrant place to visit. Come along to explore Kettering's history and find out what makes the town unique. Covering the history of the Borough, the Museum is packed with fascinating objects including archaeology, natural history, geology, and costume.
Children's craft activities take place during the school holidays and historical themed lunchtime talks take place regularly at the neighbouring Alfred East Art Gallery.
Our education service for schools, community groups and others, delivers sessions that involve children in hands-on and active learning, covering many different areas of the curriculum.
The museum shop is well-known for its excellent range of educational and fun gift items related to the themes of the museum and more. It's the perfect place to buy a unique treat.

The museum collects only those items, which were made or used within the geographical area of Kettering Borough for its permanent collections. The current size of the collections is thought to total circa 20,000 artefacts.
Access to the Collections:
The Museum collections are not all on display at the same time. There are far too many items to fit in the building!
Some of the Museum’s collections can be accessed for research purposes on request. Please contact the Museum and Gallery for further details. At least one month's notice is required for this request.

Community Corner: Communities at Heart
Communities at Heart supports families and young people who are struggling in some way, through weekly visits for 2-3 hours at the family home, or one to one sessions with young people who need support. We run two youth groups in the Grange for 7-11 years old and will be running a youth service from Keystone Escape in the near future.

Community Corner: Jam in the Hood
Jam in the Hood is an innovative project that aims to change the negative perceptions of young people within the local community whilst addressing local issues around crime and anti-social behaviour. The project delivers an informal education programme in a creative way with sessions including visits to police firearms and helicopter units, as well as volunteering and team building opportunities. Kettering High School
An exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the opening of ‘The High School’ Kettering, in 1913. The exhibition provides a fantastic insight into the history of the school, its achievements and associated memories. Whether you’re a former pupil or not, come along to reminisce about school days gone by; uniform, classrooms, teachers, subjects and much more.
The exhibition is presented in partnership with Kettering High School (KHS) Old Girls’ Association and Southfield School, Kettering.

A Return to Brambly Hedge
The mice of Brambly Hedge are visiting the Manor House Museum in Kettering this summer! Visitors can join Wilfred, Primrose, Mrs Toadflax, Lord and Lady Woodmouse among a host of other favourite characters from the popular stories by author and artist Jill Barklem. This is an exhibition which brings the Brambly Hedge stories to life, offering plenty for children and adults alike.

Formed in Kettering in October 2010, the United Kingdom Amateur Fossil Hunters (UKAFH) group has attracted people sharing an interest in fossils, from across the UK, providing somewhere to share knowledge, information, thoughts and opinions.
