Housed in a grade II listed Georgian town house with a Victorian extension.

We are a community led museum, focusing on our geographical area, and exhibit for several local societies.

School Holidays see activities for children every day we are open.

Additional info

We have a coffee shop which sells a selection of hot drinks. We have refreshments and homemade cakes for some events provided by the Friends of the Erewash Museum.

Our collections focus on our area, telling the story of the Erewash Valley from the Stone Age to the present day. We also have a collection of paintings by local artists and pottery from the art potters at West Hallam in the 1920s.

Make and Take Week

28 — 31 May 2013

Drop in any day from Tuesday to Thursday to try your hand at making some fun crafts to take home with you.
On Friday 31st May there will be a chance to learn some balloon modelling skills.

School Visits

All our school visits are based around the National Curriculum and tied into the Inspiring Learning for All framework. They include teacher and museum led sessions working with costume, roleplay, object handling, detailed observation and cross curricular activities. Loan Boxes

Our loan boxes contain real historical objects, replica objects for active use, photos, picture resources and ideas for activities around the subject focus and across all curriculum areas. Please contact us for our current school provision leaflet. Loans are FREE, but we do ask for a returnable deposit of £10 per box and any donation is always welcome.
