This enchanting museum houses 10 beamed rooms with massive Tudor fireplaces. The building incorporates a Victorian kitchen, Tudor Parlour and Houseplace. Other rooms have Ashford Marble, lace, toys, china and large collection of cameras and photographs.
The magnificent beamed room, The Solar, displays some of the musems' costume collection. Industrial gallery and courtyard featuring stunning, large scale, stainless steel interpretation of Lumford mill wheel

The Gramophone Goes to War

Join in the Songs of the Great War and roar, roar, roar as you try out recording technology of the time.

There will be hands-on activities throughout the museum. Knit and stitch blankets, roll bandages, and create comfort boxes for the boys at the front. Dress up in costumes of the day and other activities.

The Home Front ladies will serve you a soup, bread, and a Victoria sponge supper.
