The museum houses 11 beamed rooms with some with massive Tudor fireplaces. The building incorporates a Victorian kitchen, a wheelwright and a smithy. Cobblers corner, agricultural and woodworking tools.
Other rooms have Ashford Marble, lace, toys, china and large collection of cameras and photographs.
The magnificent beamed room, The Solar, displays some of the museums magnificent costume collection.

Costumes with Stories
Costumes with stories is our textile exhibition for 2009 featuring a Tibetan costume donated by Sir Jack Longland educator, mountaineer and broadcaster. Land Army outfit from World War 1, Aunt Lilly’s Black Victorian dress, cape, hat and umbrella and many other costumes with intriguing stories of there owners.
Photographs, presscuttings, letters and interviews all feature in this fascinating display.
The museums resident textile team will be on hand to talk to visitors about the display.
Also the Lacemakers Guild and other crafters will be forgotten craft.
