Exhibition preview: Brian Griffiths: Borrowed World, Borrowed Eyes, Tramway, Glasgow, until September 22 2013
If one of the key characteristics of the main gallery space at Tramway is its industrial scale, Brian Griffiths seeks to underline its vastness. In a maze which must have taken some assembling, the artist has filled it with a field of mammoth sculptures.

Griffiths’ are geometric centrepieces covered with worn, painted, patched and stitched tarpaulins. Toying with perceptions of familiar materials, they are hybrids of both mass-produced units and handmade surfaces.
The artist slings this assembly of ghosts low and sagging. His aim is to create a kind of absurd, spooky visual language with a sense of imperfect melancholy.
- Open 12pm-5pm (6pm Saturday and Sunday, closed Monday). Admission free. Follow the gallery on Twitter @GlasgowTramway.
