An award-winning photographer trained at the Manchester College, Mina Ahmed’s decision to turn her landscape hobby into a burgeoning career has already resulted in several acclaimed exhibitions.

Her latest, showcasing her eclectic, inventive styles and techniques, weaves through the hidden beauties of Oldham and its surrounding scenery, insinuating elements of local history, heritage and culture.

“I want to show some of the fascinating remnants of the industrial past, as well as the significant new developments taking place to revitalise the town,” outlines Ahmed.

“My night images will highlight places we may normally overlook when walking around the town. The vibrant colours, shapes and structures come alive under a beautiful moonlit sky.

“I want to show some of the individuality and uniformity of the beautiful Victorian architecture sitting alongside the modern new buildings, providing a great contrast between the old and new.”

  • Open 10am-5pm (closed Sunday). Admission free. Follow the gallery on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/GalleryOldham and visit Mina Ahmed's Flickr site, blog and Facebook page.
