Evening Christmas shoppers in Brighton who need a break from the fatigue of present buying may want to head to University of Brighton Gallery for a slightly different view of the Brighton winter.
An exhibition devoted to the work of British based American film-makers The Quay Brothers, called Inventorium is opening late at the gallery throughout December until December 20 (10am-8pm) to showcase the work of the acclaimed and poetic animators.
Inventorium sets a chilling and wintery scene for Brighton with a magical collection of film decors and a multi-media installation Eurydice - She, So Beloved.

Commissioned to mark the four hundredth anniversary of Monteverdi’s Orfeo, the first opera ever produced, EURYDICE - SHE SO BELOVED is the first time the Quays have made a work specifically for a gallery situation.
It is inspired by the classical story of love and loss as Orpheus enters the underworld in an attempt to bring his deceased young bride Eurydice back to the world of the living.
