The public are invited to take their own pictures of life in the city of Leeds for a new major photography exhibition opening at Leeds City Museum in January 2009.
A Lasting Moment is a photographic exhibition depicting Leeds in the 1950s that offers a unique pictorial perspective of the post-war city and its people through the eyes of internationally-acclaimed photographer Marc Riboud.
As part of a project to support it, people are invited to submit their own images interpreting life in Leeds today. The winning entries will go on display in the museum during the exhibition and will tour libraries after it closes.
Entries can be submitted in four different categories including Politics/Communities; The Working City; City Life and Old Lives/New Futures. There are two age groups - 15 years and under and 16 plus for everyone else.
For full details see the website at www.leeds.gov.uk/citymuseum. Click on 'Special Exhibitions' on the side menu, then the 'A Lasting Moment' icon and scroll down to the photography competition section.
Closing date is Saturday November 29 2008.
