During the 1970s, Carinthia West led a barnstorming life as a model, journalist and editor – Marie Claire, Tatler, Harper’s and Queen and Harper’s Bazaar are among her illustrious literary responsibilities, as well as contributions to national broadsheets and tabloids.
But she says photography remains her real love, which makes for a showbiz treat when those she hung out with include Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Helen Mirren, Neil Young, Carly Simon, George Harrison and Keith Moon.
Friendship, loyalty, celebrity and fame are the themes of this show, but a selection of photos covering a “flying pig” which escaped over Battersea Power Station during a Pink Floyd album photoshoot is likely to be one of the quirkier highlights here.
Situated minutes from the Power Station, The Library Space seems a good spot to reminisce over those psychedelic days in a debut solo show for a snapper whose works drip with glittery stardom.
- Open 10am-6pm (11am-6pm Saturday and Sunday). Admission free. Follow The Library Space on Twitter and on Facebook.
