Exhibition: A Garden Retrospective, Erddig, Wrexham, until April 28 2010
The lush surroundings of National Trust property Erddig, an 18th century country house near Wrexham, are probably the perfect setting for Liz Mellor's Garden Retrospective.
Specialising in vibrant pastels, the respected painter has taken her interpretations of greenery across the UK and Europe, maintaining journals along the way.

This is the first time Mellor has been part of an exhibition at Erddig
The personal documentations of her projects, experimental sketches and creative thinking during the past 20 years accompany the works, providing a written commentary to direct observations of Welsh gardens.
Despite finding inspiration in her native landscape, this show also marks the first time Mellor has exhibited at Erddig, representing something of a homecoming for the local lass.
