One of the world’s leading cutlery artists will be projecting enormous spoons and knives onto the floor of Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery as part of a three-month live installation.

Linda Florence, who has designed for the likes of Ted Baker, Selfridges and Penguin Books, will turn the main entrance of the Museums Sheffield centre into regimented lines of historic cutlery in a celebration of the metalwork collection at the Gallery.

The super-sized floor prints are constructed from flocked vinyl, and will be complemented by scratch card silver wallpaper inside the Gallery’s lift from the Textile Futures graduate of Central Saint Martins.

The 13,000-piece showcase of Sheffield’s industrial heritage dates as far back as the 15th century and has been classed as a Designated Collection by the Department of Culture Media and Sport.
