Their quest harks back to the 1940s, when minimal resources meant make-do-and-mend was the ethos for function and style. “This is my third exhibition as Guest Curator,” says Bainbridge. “Each has been very different.
“As a milliner and designer, looking at sustainability is very important. Yet the perceptions of the buyer as to what this means often need clarifying.
“I hope this exhibition will highlight the variety of opportunities within sustainable design. You can still be ahead of fashion and help the environment.”
- Open 10am-5pm (11am-5pm Sunday, closed Monday, 11am-5pm Bank Holiday Monday). Admission free.
