New craft venue The Papered Parlour will open in the heart of Clapham on May 2 2009 with a day of free events for all ages.
The venue wants to promote its passion for passing on the "proletarian pleasures associated with all things handmade."
There will be a range of events including Fidgeting Finger Fun for parents and kids, the Great Proletarian Clothes Swap, a Craft Kiosk of bargains and a tea dance with music hall legend Vic Charters.
The all-girl team aim to teach key creative skills that will allow you to create cutting edge designs for your own home while supporting a message of sustainability.
Courses start at £12 for a two-hour session and should suit all tastes and capabilities, whether you are sewing your first stitch or wanting to print your own wallpaper.
