The dynamic landscapes and changing beauty of the New Forest is the inspiration for a brand new exhibition ‘Season of the Forest’ at the Red House Museum in Christchurch.

The exhibition is a display of works by the New Forest Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers who have been established for nearly 30 years.

The carefully crafted exhibits include beautifully finished hand woven scarves to hand woven rugs, from tapestry to clothing; many made from hand spun and hand dyed yarns.

Visitors will have the opportunity to buy many of the exhibits and the Guild will also be laying on displays of weaving and spinning.

Colin Harding, Chairman of the Guild said: “I’m sure visitors to our latest exhibition at the Red House museum will be fascinated at the innovative and traditional techniques used by members.”

The Guild is thriving with members who meet on a monthly basis to swap expert tips and share their expertise. The aim of the guild is to nurture, teach and promote the crafts of weaving spinning and dying to the benefit of the public.

Entry to the exhibition is free, for more information go to www.hants.gov.uk/redhouse or call the Red House on 01202 482860.
