Just in case you missed it, may we remind you that the Crafts Council turned 40 in late 2011. To celebrate, they produced a rather elegant website of objects chosen from 1,400 in the Crafts Council Collection.
By turns beautiful, enigmatic and occasionally baffling, these objects provide a tantalising glimpse into a public collection that forms an integral part of the council’s mission to promote and celebrate contemporary craft.
The website is the opening gambit in a series of bold, web-based explorations, the next of which is the launch of the collection catalogue and images library online.
Take a quick look at our selection then explore their meaning deeper on the 40:40 website.
