Exhibition: Ceramic Sculpture from Suffolk, Gallery 2, Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich, until August 25 2012

Last year, the Suffolk Craft Society presented a flourish of domestic pottery from talented makers across the region at the Town Hall Galleries.

This time around they’re turning the spotlight on ceramic sculpture, welcoming ten artists who bring colour and finesse to the party.

There’s colourful earthenware by Paddy Peters, crisp minimalist forms by Judith Battersby and fantastical figures by Karen Risby.

Diversity is the aim, with some placing their vessels at the core of traditional works and others creating free-form, expressive pieces.

Elegant and entertaining, the display also showcases the work of a Society still excelling at contemporary craft after 42 clay-caked years.
