The ninth DaDaFest kicks off next Tuesday with 24 performances and exhibitions taking place across the North-West.

Organised by DaDa Disability and Deaf Arts, this year's event will feature groundbreaking photographic exhibitions, fresh comedy performances and a burlesque show.

"DaDaFest 2009 is proud to showcase the work of deaf and disabled artists from around the globe in a number of fantastic venues from around the North-West," said Ruth Gould, CEO and Founder of DaDa.

"The exhibitions, seminars and performances within DaDaFest will enlighten, engage and educate the public as well as raise awareness of some key issues that deaf and disabled communities face everyday."

Fourth Plinth performer Liz Crow begins the launch celebrations with her moving and engaging exhibition, Resistance at the Novas Contemporary Urban Centre.

Dada is paving the way for deaf and disability artists from all over the country as well as working towards the development of a community that embraces the differences that can lead to social exclusion.

DaDaFest will run from November 17 to December 5. For more information or to reserve tickets, contact Faye Christiansen on 0151 707 1733 or email events@dadahello.com.
