A temporary exhibition of work by Joan Molloy visits the East Wing Collection as the Courtauld Institute of Art enjoys its latest intermittent opening at London’s Somerset House tonight.

Offering a complex and highly original explanation of time focusing on memories of childhood, family relationships and ageing, the works combine photography, film, object-making and installation.

There will also be a chance to view Stephen Walter’s detailed graphite-drawn maps of London, which will remain at the gallery until July 2009 due to popular demand.

“We first transformed this space in October of last year, exhibiting three of her works over an open weekend,” said organiser Chloe Nelkin. “They really are special – such evocative pieces recalling childhood memories and family unions. The works on display tonight are even more special as they have never been on show before.”

Open 6.30-9pm, admission free.
