Exhibition: 17 in Print, Colchester Castle, Colchester, until April 26

Showcasing work by 17 artists who have had links with the East of England over the past 80 years, 17 in Print is the culmination of a 12-year collecting effort by Colchester and Ipswich Museum Service.

The display includes work on a wide range of themes including landscapes, maritime, nature and animals, storytelling, mythology and abstract.

It stars woodwork master Barry Woodcock (who trained at Ipswich Art School), Valerie Thornton (whose work includes an engraving of the Roman pots in Colchester Castle) and sculptor Eduardo Paolozzi (a visiting lecturer at Colchester Art School).

Many of the etchings, engravings and wood and lino cuts have never been seen in public before.
